Vandy continues conference play

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt lacrosse looks to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon as the Commodores host American Athletic Conference opponent East Carolina. The game will start at noon and air on ESPN+.

The Dores are coming off a 10-8 loss to Coastal Carolina on Wednesday afternoon. Brooke Baker led Vandy with her fifth hat trick of the season. Senior Ella Smith dished a career-high-tying three assists, giving her at least one assist in six of the last seven games. Cate Bradley found the back of the cage twice, marking five consecutive games with a goal for the junior.

East Carolina enters the game 3-10 on the season. The Pirates will be looking to capture their first conference win, with losses coming to Cincinnati, Florida, James Madison and Temple earlier this year. Florida topped East Carolina, 19-7, last Saturday. Erin Gulden registered three goals against the Gators and leads the team with 27 goals on the season. Frances Kimel has 27 assists this season, second-most in the conference.

This will be the sixth matchup in a series that Vanderbilt leads 4-1. The Pirates topped Vandy, 15-10, last season in Greenville, North Carolina.
