Boston College transfer Devin McGlockton heads to Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Boston College transfer Devin McGlockton has officially signed with Vanderbilt, head coach Mark Byington announced on Friday.

McGlockton, a 6-foot-7 forward from Cumming, Georgia, started all 36 games for the Eagles in 2023-24. He averaged 10.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest during his sophomore season.

“Devin is super talented, and I feel he’ll be very successful for us and also be a successful professional,” said Byington. “He has an ability to affect the game in every way – scoring, passing, rebounding, defending and making game-changing toughness plays.”

McGlockton shot 57.5 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from the three-point line. He scored in double figures on 19 occasions with 16 of those coming in ACC or NIT action.

He dropped a career-high 30 points on 12-of-15 shooting in Boston College’s win over Georgia Tech on Jan. 6. McGlockton grabbed a career-best 14 rebounds in the following contest against Syracuse and paired the boards with 15 points for a double-double.

The forward excelled on the offensive glass this season, ranking fourth in the ACC with 2.64 offensive boards per game. The mark led the Eagles and ranks among the top-100 offensive rebounding rates in the country.

On the defensive end, McGlockton recorded 29 blocks to rank second at Boston College and 16th in the ACC. He also notched 20 steals in 2023-24.

In two seasons at Boston College, McGlockton appeared in 69 games with 46 starts. He has shot over 60 percent from inside the arc during his career while knocking down free throws at a .752 clip.

McGlockton will be a junior in 2024-25 and has two seasons of eligibility.
