NASHVILLE, Tenn. – As summer heats up, Vanderbilt alums continue to put on a show around professional baseball, highlighted by 11 active players in Major League Baseball.

Austin Martin – Minnesota Twins
Austin Martin made his case for “Catch of the Year” this weekend with an incredible robbery against the Oakland Athletics.

Martin is hitting .333 over his last seven games with the Twins including a multi-hit performance on June 16.

JJ Bleday – Oakland Athletics
Oakland walked off Toronto in the ninth inning on June 7 courtesy of JJ Bleday.

Bleday has 10 home runs and 25 RBI this season, ranking third on the A’s in both categories.

Martin and Bleday reunited this week as the Athletics visited the Twins and both tallied multi-hit games.

Sonny Gray – St. Louis Cardinals
Sonny Gray turned in quality starts in each of his last two appearances. On June 12 vs. Pittsburgh, Gray went 7.2 innings and totaled nine strikeouts while allowing one earned on four hits. For the season, Gray is 8-4 with a 2.95 ERA and 94 strikeouts over 76.1 innings.

Bryan Reynolds – Pittsburgh Pirates
Bryan Reynolds leads the Pirates with 39 RBI this season. He’s second on the team in home runs with nine.

Enrique Bradfield Jr. and Carter Young – Baltimore Orioles, Aberdeen IronBirds
Enrique Bradfield Jr. tallied his first High-A home run on June 12 vs. Hickory. Two days later, he got his second to lead off the game against the Crawdads.

Fellow IronBird and VandyBoys alum Carter Young belted a three-run blast for Aberdeen on June 16.

RJ Schreck – Seattle Mariners, Everett AquaSox
RJ Schreck was named the NWL Player of the Week this week after hitting .438 with a 1.464 OPS. Schreck has nine homers, nine doubles and 31 RBI this season for the AquaSox.

Dominic Keegan – Tampa Bay Rays, Montgomery Biscuits
Dominic Keegan received Player of the Week honors from MiLB and the Southern League on June 3 after hitting 9-for-17 (.529) with six RBI. On the season, Keegan is hitting .287 with five home runs and 32 RBI.

Thomas Schultz – Washington Nationals, Wilmington Blue Rocks
Thomas Schultz was promoted to High-A on June 4 after a strong start to the season with the Fredericksburg Nationals. In Low-A, Schultz registered a 1.82 ERA and led the league in saves with eight.

Spencer Jones – New York Yankees, Somerset Patriots
Spencer Jones ranks No. 2 in the Yankees organization’s top prospects according to MLB.com. Jones has six homers, seven doubles and a pair of triples in Double-A this season.
