Dores Host Tulane, Food Drive

Vanderbilt welcomes the Green Wave to Nashville on Saturday, will also host food drive

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt swimming will host Tulane on Saturday at the second home meet of the 2021-2022 season. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. at Centennial Sportsplex.

In addition to the Green Wave, the Commodores are also hosting a canned food drive Saturday in partnership with One Generation Away. Anyone who donates will be entered to different prizes courtesy of Vanderbilt Athletics such as men’s and women’s basketball tickets.

Suggested items include: Peanut butter, macaroni and cheese (Easy Mac), pop top soups, canned meat, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce (plastic bottles), cereal and canned vegetables.

Vanderbilt is 3-1 this season with a victory in three straight weeks of competition.

Last week, Vanderbilt emerged victorious at home with a 134-128 triumph over Illinois. Vandy out-touched the Illini in the 200-yard freestyle relay to win by .15 seconds with Eleanor Beers anchoring the winning quartet to finish in 1:34.20. The team won six races total for their third straight dual win. A full recap is here.

Following Saturday’s matchup, Vanderbilt will wrap up the Fall season at the Miami Invitational in Miami, Florida, on Nov. 18-20.
