Vanderbilt will present its second football clinic on Thursday, June 6, planning to provide Commodore Nation an up close look of its football program.

The on-campus event, VUFB 101: 2013 Vanderbilt Football Clinic, is being co-presented by the football staff and the Vanderbilt Woman’s Club. It is specifically designed to help Commodore fans expand their knowledge of college football rules while getting a rare insider’s look at the football program.

Vanderbilt Head Coach James Franklin said he’s eager to discuss Commodore football with participants in the upcoming clinic.

“This was a fun and enjoyable event for both our fans and our coaches when we introduced the clinic two years ago,” Franklin said. “We decided to schedule another VUFB 101 outing after receiving many requests.

“We intend for every fan participating to have a great time, and continue to learn more about this game that we all enjoy,” the coach added.

The clinic is scheduled from 5-9 p.m., in the team’s McGugin Center meeting rooms and adjacent Vanderbilt Stadium.

Franklin will make a special presentation on his direction of the Commodore program. He and the coaching staff will also stage breakout discussions and teaching sessions on basic football rules and review the Commodores’ offensive and defensive strategies.

The clinic cost is $75 with dinner and $65 without dinner. The fee includes exclusive gifts, certificate of completion, photos with Coach Franklin, and a dinner in the Hendrix Room.

VUFB 101 is limited to the first 120 registrants. The clinic is free for Vanderbilt students. Per NCAA regulations, no recruitable student-athletes can participate in the clinic.
