Vanderbilt has known the opponent and date of its first College World Series game since Saturday, and on Monday the final missing element was announced. The Commodores (52-10) will open College World Series play at 1 p.m. CT Saturday, June 18 on ESPN against North Carolina (50-14). Vanderbilt will also be the visiting team in what will be the first game of the 2011 College World Series.
Should Vanderbilt win its first game, it will play at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, June 20 on ESPN2 against the winner of the Florida and Texas game. If Vanderbilt loses its first game, it will face the loser of the Florida – Texas game at 1 p.m. CT on Monday, June 20 on ESPN.
