Dores Headed to Europe

Dores set for trip to Europe this summer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt men’s basketball team will experience a once-in-a-lifetime, team-building trip to Europe this August.

Vandy will travel to France, Monaco and Italy for a 10-day tour of the European countries. The Commodores will compete in four exhibition games and are allotted 10 additional practice times this summer. The Dores will depart Aug. 6 and return Aug. 15.

“We are excited about the international trip and the unique experiences it will provide our student-athletes educationally and athletically,” Vanderbilt head coach Jerry Stackhouse said. “Our program is very grateful to our administration and the individual supporters who are making this trip possible.  We look forward to the lifelong memories our Commodore team will experience together in Europe this summer.”

The extra practice time and games this summer give the Commodores a chance to build on this season’s progress including 19 wins and the program’s first postseason action since 2017. The summer action will also allow Vandy’s 2022 freshman class – ranked No. 20 by Rivals and No. 23 by 247 Sports – to assimilate to the team’s style against outside competition.

Vanderbilt is scheduled to visit Nice, Monaco, Milan and Venice as part of the trip. Sightseeing, ambassadorship and excursions will all be part of the Commodores’ trip.

A travel package for fans and families of Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball will be available soon through WorldStrides. More info, please contact Johnny Brown (jonathanbr@worldstrides.com) with WorldStrides.
