TULSA, Okla. – Senior Christina Rosca and sophomore Georgia Drummy return to Nashville after concluding stellar runs in the ITA All-Americans on Friday at the Case Tennis Center LaFortune Park.
Competing in the singles Round of 16, Rosca marked her spot in the quarterfinals by besting NC State’s Alana Smith in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
Drummy faced No. 12 seed Ashley Lahey from Pepperdine in the Round of 16. Lahey took down Drummy in the first set, 6-3, concluding Drummy’s run in the singles ITA All-Americans with a 6-3 win in the second set.
Looking to advance to the singles semifinals, Rosca took the court to battle against No. 3 seed North Carolina’s Alexa Graham in the quarterfinals. Rosca started strong to claim the first set, 7-6 (3). Graham outlasted Rosca in the second set, 6-4, to force a third. Claiming her spot in the semifinals, Graham took the match with a 6-4 victory in the final set.
In doubles, the pair battled against Central Florida’s Marie Mattel and Rebeka Stolmar for a spot in the semifinals. Rosca and Drummy commanded an early lead over the pair, 4-1. Mattel and Stolmar bounced back to advance to the semifinals concluding Rosca and Drummy’s run in the ITA All-Americans, 8-4.
Rosca and Drummy will be back in action joining the team to compete in the Ohio Valley Regionals on Oct. 17 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
