ATHENS, Ga. – The 20th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s tennis doubles team of Lauren Mira and Courtney Colton was eliminated from the NCAA Doubles Championship Thursday, falling to No. 12 Quinn Gleason and Britney Sanders of Notre Dame.
With Colton serving in the final game the Commodores held off two match points but weren’t able to hold of a third, failing to send the set to a tiebreak and ultimately falling 7-5 in the third and final set.
Vanderbilt did a good job to fight back in the second set winning 6-2 after falling 6-4 in the first set.
The duo finishes the season with a 13-8 record, going 5-4 in matches against ranked opponents.
The senior Mira exits with 92 career doubles victories and 83 career singles victories. As an individual she went 21-12 in doubles in 2014, while posting a singles record of 14-13.
