Dores Fall to Hoosiers

Vandy heads to Mississippi State next

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt fell 5-1 to Indiana on Tuesday afternoon at Hawkins Field.

The Commodores tallied nine hits, including five doubles, but just one of those came with runners in scoring position.

Indiana’s Hogan Denny had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two home runs and two doubles, driving in four of the Hoosiers’ five runs.

Brodie Johnston, Mike Mancini and Chris Maldonado totaled two hits each. Maldonado’s RBI single in the bottom of the eighth scored Vandy’s lone run.

The Commodores fall to 13-9 on the season and travel to Starkville, Miss., this weekend to face No. 6 Mississippi State for a three-game series.
