ARLINGTON, Texas — No. 23 Vanderbilt (1-2) lost 11-1 in eight innings Sunday at Globe Life Field.

The Dores and Cowboys remained scoreless until the fifth inning when Oklahoma State push four runs across. They added six more in the sixth and one in the eighth.

Starting pitcher Nate Taylor struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings in his Vanderbilt debut, holding the Cowboys to two hits.

Logan Johnstone recorded his first home run as a Commodore, scoring the Dores’ only run with a solo shot in the top of the seventh.

Vanderbilt returns to Nashville for its home opener Tuesday against Eastern Michigan at 4:30 p.m. at Hawkins Field. The game will stream on SECN+. The radio broadcast will air on 94.9 The Fan.

The Commodores six-game home stretch with a pair of midweek contests against Eastern Michigan followed by a three-game series with Marist before hosting Evansville next Tuesday.
