Vanderbilt falls to No. 3 Tennessee in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Picking back up in SEC play, the Vanderbilt men’s tennis team fell to No. 3 Tennessee 7-0 on Friday afternoon at Barksdale Stadium.

The third-ranked Volunteers (18-2, 7-1) gained an early advantage in the match over the Commodores (5-10, 0-7) with identical 6-3 wins at Nos. 1 and 2. Jeremie Casabon and Connor Robb-Wilcox battled back and forth at No. 3 but the match went unfinished at 4-3.

Tennessee used the momentum from doubles to sweep the singles tilts. George Harwell, Marcus Ferreira and Joubert Klopper all took their Vols opposition to third sets.

Vanderbilt will continue its final road trip of the season on Sunday when it visits the 13th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs. First serve from the Dan Magill Tennis Complex will take place at noon CT.
