GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team wrapped up play at the Furman Fall Classic Sunday afternoon. Throughout the three days of play, the Commodores accumulated 18 wins in singles and doubles competition.
In doubles Flight 1, the duo of Rachael Dillon and Alex Leatu took second place after falling to Tennessee’s Rosalia Alda and Millie Nichols Nichols, 9-7. Chelsea Preeg and Lauren Mira placed fifth in Flight 1 after winning the consolation bracket with an 8-4 win over Katie Rybakova and Noemie Scharle of Florida State.
Jackie Wu and Erica Robertson claimed fifth place in Flight 2 with an 8-4 win over South Carolina’s Dijana Stojic and Dominika Kanakova.
The Commodores have two weeks off before traveling to Knoxville for the Ohio Valley Regional, Oct. 14-18.
