Dore Jam VII – the annual Fan Day activity for Vanderbilt Athletics – is scheduled this Sunday, Aug. 15, at the John Rich Practice Facility.
The free event, held at the John Rich Practice Facility off Natchez Trace, gives Vanderbilt fans an opportunity to interact with Commodore football players and coaches, get autographs, enjoy free food, drinks, kids activities and live music, and meet members of other Commodore varsity teams.
Gates open for Dore Jam at 4 p.m. The event continues to 6 p.m.
New Vanderbilt football head coach Robbie Caldwell is looking forward to greeting as many Commodore fans as possible during the event.
“Now, this is my kind of event,” Caldwell said. “When I can be with friends, shake some hands and talk Vanderbilt football, I’m just fine.
“If you’re a Commodore fan and looking to meet your favorite player or coach, I really encourage you to come out. All of us really appreciate the fans and getting a chance to say hello to those who support us,” Caldwell added.
Afterward, all fans will be encouraged to walk across the practice field to the Vanderbilt Soccer Stadium to receive free admission to the Commodore women’s soccer match against nearby Belmont. The match marks the season opening exhibition for the Commodore women.
“We think this is a great way for fans to help us kick-off the year and we are very excited for Commodore fans to also get to enjoy an exciting women’s soccer match,” Steve Walsh, Director of Sales and Marketing said.
Fans attending Dore Jam can park at no cost in the lots located along Natchez Trace between Vanderbilt Place and Blakemore Avenue. Free hot dogs and soda will be available outside of the John Rich Practice Facility along with a chance for fans to visit with the new flagship station of Vanderbilt Athletics, WRQQ Classic Rock 97.1 FM.
Once fans enter the practice facility, they will have a chance to get pictures and autographs with team members and coaches.
