LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. Former Vanderbilt women’s tennis standout Julie Ditty won a professional event this past weekend as she won the PGA Tour Superstore Tennis Classic in Lawrenceville, Ga. Ditty defeated Angela Haynes in the final 7-6 (6), 6-4.
Ditty went through the event without losing a set, winning matches over Sharon Fichman, Alexandra Podkolzina, Alexa Glatch and Stephanie Dubois on her way to the championship match.
Ditty also found success in the doubles draw this past weekend. Ditty and her partner, Leanne Baker, advanced to the finals before falling to Dubois and Alisa Kleybanova 6-2, 6-0.
With the win, Ditty’s professional ranking has risen to No. 120. The former Commodore standout now has eight professional singles titles in her career and twenty-two doubles titles.
