Vanderbilt began play in the 49ers Fall Invitational on Friday at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Six Commodores made the trip to compete in the tournament and four picked up victories in their respective singles draws, including three freshmen.
George Harwell, Tate Allwardt, Maxwell Freeman and Adam Sraberg all advanced to the quarterfinals with victories in the round of 16. Each will move on to compete in the quarterfinals in their respective draws beginning at 9 a.m. (CT) tomorrow.
On the doubles side, George Harwell and Maxwell Freeman comprised the top Vanderbilt pair on Friday, picking up victories over Thompson/Palmer of UNC Greensboro and Hager/Chaudhry from Davidson. Harwell and Freeman will take on Gardner-Webb’s Maximilian Scholl and Millen Hurrion in the A2 Draw’s title match at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
