NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s basketball has signed former Colorado big man Bangot Dak for the 2026-27 season. Dak is the third portal signing for the Commodores.
The 7-foot-tall Dak spent each of the previous three seasons at Colorado where he averaged 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds as a junior in 2025-26. Dak started in 30 of his 32 games played last season and shot 49.2 percent from the field. He registered a team-leading 50 blocks while handing out 46 assists and shooting 73.6 percent on nearly 90 attempts at the free throw line. Dak averaged a career-high 25.7 minutes last season.
The Lincoln, Nebraska, native owns five career double-doubles, all coming in the 2025-26 season. In the March 3 contest at Utah, Dak piled up a career-best 22 points with 10 boards and four blocks. He also had 22 points with eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks in the Big 12 Tournament against Oklahoma State.
Dak has scored in double figures 35 times throughout his career including 22 of his 32 games played this past season. He closed 2025-26 with double figures in 6-of-7 contests while averaging 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds down the stretch.
Over his three years at Colorado, Dak played in 90 games with 50 starts. He’s a career 48.7 percent from the field and 70.0 percent free throw shooter. He owns exactly 100 blocks in his three seasons, including 96 of those in the past two years.
