NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Vanderbilt baseball student-athlete Caleb Cotham was hired as the Philadelphia Phillies’ pitching coach, the organization announced recently.

Cotham was the Cincinnati Reds’ assistant pitching coach and director of pitching before making his transition to the Philadelphia. He joined the Cincinnati coaching staff in 2019 as assistant pitching coach before adding the director title following the 2019 season.
Cotham pitched two seasons in the MLB, spending time with both the New York Yankees and the Reds. He made 12 appearances for the Yankees in 2015, while seeing action in 23 contests for Cincinnati in 2016.
Cotham spent three seasons on West End (2007-09), making 36 career appearances with 14 wins and 174 strikeouts across his final two campaigns.
Cotham was selected by the New York Yankees in the fifth round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft.
