Commodores to Play Nashville Sounds in Exhibition Contest
Game Scheduled for April 5 in Greer Stadium

Nashville, Tenn

. — Vanderbilt head baseball coach Tim Corbin has announced that the Commodores will take on the Nashville Sounds April 5 (Monday) at Greer Stadium. The teams will play a seven-inning exhibition game beginning at 6 pm.

“It’s exciting for our kids to play a professional team,” Corbin said. “Since it’s an exhibition game, it gives our players who don’t have the opportunity to play every day a chance to play in a game.

“It’s good for baseball in the community and it’s something I would love to happen every year,” Corbin added.

The Nashville Sounds are a AAA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Last season, the Sounds were 81-62 overall and won their first division title in 10 years advancing to the PCL Championship Series.
