NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s basketball is proud to host its National Girls and Women in Sports Day panel Jan. 30.
Prior to Vanderbilt’s game against in-state rival Tennessee, a pregame panel featuring five prominent area women in sports will take place in the Admiral’s Room inside Memorial Gymnasium from 6:15-7:15 p.m.

The Commodores are proud to recognize the athletic achievements of girls and women and to encourage all to participate in athletics. In addition to a Q&A session, each member of the panel will talk about their experiences in sports, how sports played a role in their career, challenges they face, advice for working in sports, etc.
The panel of five speakers includes Vanderbilt Athletics Assistant Director of Creative Media Catherine Hilley, Nashville Sounds Director of Entertainment Mary Hegely, Tennessee Titans Corporate Partnerships Activation Coordinator Amanda Lockwood, Vanderbilt men’s basketball Chief of Staff Adell Harris and Founder of Hitz & Branding and former NCAA Director of Championships and Alliances Tracie Hitz.
Former Commodore standout and Vanderbilt Athletics Senior Woman Administrator Candice Storey Lee will serve as moderator.
Attendees will need a ticket to the game to take part in the panel. The Admiral’s Room is accessible via the East South entrance of Memorial Gymnasium and doors will open at 6 p.m. Parking will be available in the 25th Avenue garage.
Immediately following the panel, Vanderbilt assistant coach Gary Redus will host a chalk talk which is also open to anyone with a ticket to the game.
Tip off against the Lady Vols is at 8 p.m.
