Commodores Release 2019 Schedule

Vanderbilt looks to defend SEC title

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt will host LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M in SEC play as highlights of the 2019 soccer season, head coach Darren Ambrose announced on Thursday.

Last fall, the Commodores enjoyed their most successful season in 25 years, winning the SEC regular season championship and finishing ranked 16th in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

Their 16 wins were also good for the third-most in Vanderbilt history.

Vanderbilt’s 18-game slate in 2019 begins at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex when Georgia State visits (Aug. 22). Vanderbilt squared off with Georgia State in 2018, resulting in a 3-0 victory on the road. A home game against Evansville (Aug. 25) will follow the matchup with Georgia State.

After beginning the season at home, Vanderbilt will take a trip out west to face UC Irvine (Aug. 30) and Pepperdine (Sept. 1).
