Commodores Introduce Gruber

Kristin Gruber joins program as a junior

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt lacrosse head coach Beth Hewitt announced Monday the addition of Kristin Gruber, a junior transfer from Mount St. Mary’s.

A native of Woodbine, Maryland, Gruber played her first two collegiate seasons for the Mountaineers. She worked her way back into the starting lineup in 2022 after suffering a season-ending injury as a freshman in 2021.

“We’re excited for Kristin to jump into our program and provide us depth and experience on the defensive end,” Hewitt said. “Her combination of athletic ability, size and drive to be the best was felt right away in our meeting. We are thrilled to add her leadership to that side of the field and looking forward to continuing to help her grow as a player.”

Last season she started 18 games, finishing the campaign with 22 ground balls, four caused turnovers and a draw control.
