CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team capped off the Miami Invitational going 5-1 in doubles action against No. 25 Ole Miss and No. 41 Texas.
No. 11 Sydney Campbell and Courtney Colton earned their second and third ranked wins of the season with victories over Ole Miss’ No. 47 El Kamash/Hartono 7-6(3) and Texas/ No. 87 Addison/Wagland 6-4.
Another tandems team went undefeated in two matches, as Frances Altick and Georgina Sellyn earned a 6-3 victory over the Rebel’s and dominated a tiebreaker to defeat the Longhorns; 7-6(1).
Fernanda Contreras teamed up with Ellie Yates to pull off a close match against Ole Miss. The new tandem earned additional conference experience with a 6-4 win over Robbins/Stevens,
Vanderbilt officially kicks off the dual season next weekend as the top-ranked quad host Brown, Denver and Penn State in the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Dores take on Denver on the 23rd at 10:00 am.
