On campus in Nashville — David Price is perhaps the most successful former Vanderbilt baseball player in the program’s storied history. A star pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, Price is a five-time Major League Baseball All-Star and the 2012 American League Cy Young Award winner.
But last week, Price returned home to Vanderbilt’s campus for a generous purpose. In a press conference alongside his former head coach, Tim Corbin, Price announced a $2.5 million gift to Vanderbilt’s baseball facilities project. The donation serves as the largest gift to the $12 million project and is its capstone, a remarkable example of a former Commodore giving back to Vanderbilt.
The Commodore Insider Podcast caught up with Price on a busy day to discuss his gift to the university, his close relationship with Tim Corbin, adjusting to the big leagues and why Vanderbilt is the best program in college baseball. We even got Price’s thoughts on an historic World Series.
