Commodore Baseball Places Three on Cape League All-Star Teams 7/21/2003 Commodore Baseball Places Three on Cape League All-Star Teams Falmouth, Mass – Warner Jones (5-10, So., Nashville, Tenn.), Ryan Klosterman (5-11, Jr., Clermont, Fla.), and Jeremy Sowers (6-1, Jr., Louisville, Ky.) have been selected to play in the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game, Saturday (July 26) at Guv Fuller Field in Falmouth, Mass. at 6 pm ET. Cesar Nicolas (6-4, Sr., Miami, Fla.) will also participate in the All-Star weekend in The Baseball Factory Home Run Hitting Contest which precedes the All-Star Game. Vanderbilt’s four players are the most to represent their university. Jones will start at third base for the West Division All-Stars. Jones (Wareham) leads the league in hits with 46 – seven more than second place – and is second in the league with a .341 batting average. He is ranked second in doubles (8) and triples (2) and is fifth in slugging percentage (.452). Klosterman (Chatham) is the starting shortstop for the East Division All-Stars. Klosterman owns a .274 batting average and ranks third in the league in stolen bases with 10 and fourth in runs scored with 19. Sowers (Wareham) is a reserve pitcher for the West Division All-Stars owning a 3-2 record and 1.24 ERA. He leads the league in innings pitched (50.2) and is second in strikeouts with a total of 52. Nicolas (Orleans) ranks fifth in RBI with 17, just two behind the RBI leaders. He owns a .238 batting average, third on the Orleans team, and totals three home runs. The All-Stars were selected by the league’s 10 field managers. The Cape Cod Baseball League mid-summer classic is presented by the Banks of Cape Cod and will be televised by Fox SportsNet New England and College Sports Television (DirectTV).
