Nashville, Tenn. — With the season opener less than two weeks away, Vanderbilt fans will get their first glimpses of head coach Tim Corbin’s highly touted Commodore baseball squad in a couple of venues this weekend.

The 2007 Meet the Commodores Banquet on Friday is officially sold-out, but fans can still see this season’s team in action on Saturday in the second annual Alumni Game.

The contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at Hawkins Field. The game will feature the 2007 baseball squad against former Vanderbilt players. Those scheduled to play for the alumni team are Matt Buschmann, Mike Baxter, Brian Hernandez, Warner Jones, Ryan Klosterman, Jensen Lewis, Ryan Mullins and Cesar Nicholas among others.

If there is inclement weather, the game will be rescheduled for Sunday at noon.

Saturday’s event is free to the public, however donations are welcome. Donations will support Nashville’s inner city baseball programs.
