NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Seven Vanderbilt pitchers combined to toss a seven-inning no-hitter as the Commodores run-ruled Eastern Michigan, 16-2.
Connor Hamilton threw the first two innings, allowing one run but no hits. The freshman struck out three in his first collegiate start. Brennan Seiber, Adria Casoliba, Nate Schlote and Alex Kranzler worked one-inning each with Nate Teague and Tristan Bristow finishing off the no-hitter in the seventh.
At the plate, Vandy’s power surge continued as the Dores knocked three more home runs to bring their season total to 16 over the first five games.
Vanderbilt scored nine runs in the first thanks in part to a grand slam by Tommy Goodin, his second home run in as many days. The Dores tallied seven hits in the opening frame.
Ryker Waite followed with another grand slam in the second to push Vandy’s lead to 13-1.
In his first collegiate at-bat, Aukai Kea belted a two-run shot to left-center for his first hit and home run.
Every Vanderbilt starter reached base at least once and all but two recorded a hit. Braden Holcomb finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Waite tallied a team-high five RBI.
The no-hitter is the fifth by Vanderbilt since 2019 and sixth under head coach Tim Corbin.
Vanderbilt run-ruled Eastern Michigan on back-to-back nights, outscoring the Eagles 29-4 over 14 innings.
The Commodores stay home to host a three-game series against Marist beginning Friday at 2 p.m.
