The Southeastern Conference coaches have picked Vanderbilt to finish fourth in the SEC East Division this season.
The Commodores are slated behind Florida, South Carolina and Georgia in the division and ahead of Kentucky and Tennessee. The Gators were voted to win the league while Arkansas was selected to win the West Division. The Razorbacks were picked ahead of LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Auburn.

Commodores wrap up cold, final weekend of practice
VU played three scrimmages over the team’s final weekend of practice before the regular season begins with a trip to No. 3 Stanford this coming weekend.
Friday – Offense ruled the day on Friday night with the Gold Team scoring nine runs in a 9-1 win over the Black Team. Preseason All-American Tony Kemp was the catalyst for the Gold squad scoring three runs and picking up a pair of hits, including a double. Andrew Harris contributed a pair of hits and scored twice while playing shortstop. D.J. Luna drove in a run with a double and Zander Wiel added a two-run double for the Gold Team. Mike Yastrzemski paced the Black Team with three hits and Anthony Gomez scored the team’s lone run.
On the hill, Kevin Ziomek starred for the Gold Team working four innings and fanning eight. Freshmen lefties Jared Miller and Philip Pfeifer closed down the game for the Gold over the final three innings. Miller struck out five in his two frames.
Saturday – Cold ruled the day on Saturday as the Dores played to a 1-1 tie in 20-degree weather at The Hawk. Junior college transfer Drew VerHagen was sharp over 4.2 scoreless innings for the Black squad. The big right-hander struck out four and allowed only two hits. Relievers Philip Pfeifer, Keenan Kolinsky, Adam Ravenelle and Will Clinard all posted scoreless outings.
Conrad Gregor provided the majority of the offense on the day with two hits for the Gold, including a RBI-double to score Spencer Navin. John Norwood drove in the game’s other run with a sacrifice fly late in the game.
Sunday – The Black Team blanked the Gold 5-0 on Sunday behind freshmen Adam Ravenelle, Jared Miller and Brian Miller and sophomore Keenan Kolinsky. Ravenelle and Jared Miller each pitched two innings and fanned three.
Josh Lee and Anthony Gomez led the way for the Black with two hits each. Lee scored twice and Gomez had two RBI. Jack Lupo’s two hits led the way for the Gold Team.
