Patrick Ashford

Patrick Ashford enters his third year on the Vanderbilt coaching staff. Ashford serves as a graduate assistant for the offense working with Commodore tight ends.
In 2018, Ashford assisted a Vanderbilt staff that directed one of the most potent offenses in modern team history. The Commodores’ 28.5 pt./game and 411.2 yards/game rank among the program’s best since the 1970s.
Ashford came to Vanderbilt from Tennessee-Martin staff where he worked the last four months as quarterbacks coach. During the 2016-17 seasons, he worked as an offensive assistant at Austin Peay under head coach Will Healy.
Ashford attended the University of Tennessee, earning two letters. He appeared in 24 games during his career, serving as Tennessee’s primary holder for the 2014-15 seasons. He appeared in two bowl victories.
Ashford earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Tennessee in 2015. He is pursuing a Masters in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
A native of Morristown, Tenn., Ashford is married to the former Erin Howard.
