NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A pair of Commodores will travel to Newport Beach, California, to compete in the Oracle ITA Fall Nationals at the Newport Beach Tennis Club on Wednesday.
Senior Christina Rosca and sophomore Georgia Drummy will open the tournament individually with the singles Round of 64. Following singles play, the pair will team up in doubles to compete in the Round of 32.
Last season, five Commodores competed in the Oracle ITA Fall Nationals with Rosca leading the Commodores into the singles semifinals. Rosca fell short in the semifinals to eventual champion, Katarina Jokic from Georgia, 6-1, 6-0, to conclude her run in the tournament.
Entering this year’s tournament, Rosca boasts an 8-5 record and Drummy holds an 8-4 record. The pair last competed in the ITA All-Americans in Tulsa where Rosca advanced to the quarterfinals.
The Oracle ITA Fall Nationals will mark the final tournament of the fall season featuring the top 64 student-athletes in the nation along with 32 ranked doubles pairs. The Oracle ITA national championship tournament is the only tournament that includes players from all five collegiate divisions.
