NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt athletics has announced a game day fan bus to the Birmingham Bowl in addition to a pair of fan events in Birmingham hosted by the Vanderbilt Alumni Association and National Commodore Club.
Game day eve on Dec. 26 will feature a Commodore Happy Hour at Topgolf Birmingham, right next door to Protective Stadium. The event runs 5-7 p.m. and will include a live edition of the Commodore Hour radio program. Tickets include two drinks and appetizers. Complimentary parking is available at Topgolf.
On game day, join the Alumni Association and NCC at Uptown Cantina, across the street from Protective Stadium, for the Commodore Tailgate. The event begins at noon and includes a buffet meal and full bar. Paid parking is located around Protective Stadium and Uptown Cantina and rideshares are encouraged for game day.
Land-only travel packages are still available and include lodging for one or two nights, access to the Happy Hour and Commodore Tailgate and more.
For those not heading to Birmingham early, fans can also take advantage of a game day bus trip from Nashville. The bus will depart Vanderbilt’s campus the morning of Dec. 27 and head straight to Protective Stadium, returning to West End following the game. Precise departure times will be communicated in advance of the trip once the number of fans is determined. The departure is planned to arrive in Birmingham by noon to allow fans to attend the Commodore Tailgate. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
For fans not in attendance, the 2:30 p.m. game airs on ESPN and 102.5 The Game and 94.9 The Fan (102.5 will switch to Nashville Predators’ pregame coverage at 6 p.m.). Fans throughout the country can also find an Alumni Association game watch event in various cities, or join the official game watch party locally in Nashville at Jackalope Brewing Company.
