PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Ashleigh Antal was eliminated in the first round of the pre-qualifying stage at the ITA All-American on Saturday, as she was the lone Vanderbilt women’s tennis player in action.
Antal dropped the match in three sets to Georgia Tech’s Elizabeth Kilborn 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. The sophomore began the match on a good start by winning the first set, but could not hold off Kilborn in the final two sets.
Antal will begin doubles action with Marie Casares on Monday in the qualifying stage. Casares and Lauren Mira begin qualifying singles on Monday as well.
