NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt junior Annie Menees has been named to the CoSIDA University Division Women’s At-Large Academic All-District IV team, the organization announced this week. A native of St. Louis, Mo., Menees holds a 3.97 grade point average in child development and cognitive studies while playing for the third-ranked Commodore women’s tennis team.

Menees won a total of 60 matches this season and was ranked as high as No. 10 in doubles with classmate Audra Falk. She helped the Commodores to a 26-4 overall record and their second appearance in the NCAA Semifinals.

The Southeastern Conference named Menees one of its Co-Scholar Athletes of the Year in 2004, and Menees was honored as Vanderbilt’s Student-Athlete of the Year in 2003.

The 2004 CoSIDA University Division Women’s At-Large Academic All-District IV team is made up of student-athletes from Division I schools in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.

To be nominated, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within the district.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District Team is a part of the CoSIDA Academic All-America program. First team selections will appear on the national ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Women’s At-Large team to be announced June 15.
