Amanda Fish is SEC Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Amanda Fish, Vanderbilt’s No. 1 singles competitor, is the SEC’s player of the week this week for her 3-0 singles performance against Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Fish downed No. 2 Notre Dame’s No. 30 Catrina Thompson in a straight set win (6-2, 6-2) , as well as Georgia’s No. 28 Natalie Frazier (4-6, 6-0, 7-6(2)).

Fish held Tennessee’s Victoria Jones to one game in two sets, taking the first ‘Dore singles victory of the afternoon.

Fish’s win over Georgia’s Frazier brought her overall singles record to 17 -3, with 16 wins at No. 1 singles, and improved her undefeated SEC record to 8-0 at No. 1. Fish is currently on an 8-match singles win streak and has won 11 of her last 13 singles contests.
