NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Due to a 90 percent chance of rain Sunday afternoon, Vanderbilt and Alabama will now play a doubleheader today starting at 3 p.m. CT.
Per Southeastern Conference rules, the teams petitioned the league office and approval was granted Saturday morning.
The third game, originally scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, will now be played a minimum of 30 minutes after the first game today.
Alabama claimed a 10-4 win over the Commodores Friday night and leads the series 1-0.
Fans can watch both games live online in Commodore Nation All Access. Joe Fisher’s radio call will also be broadcast on 560 AM for Game 1 only.
Hawkins Field will not be emptied between games, so anyone with an April 18 game ticket will be allowed to stay for the second game. However, anyone leaving Hawkins Field for any reason, will need to come over to the McGugin Ticket Office to purchase a ticket for the third game of the series. Anyone who has questions about the Vanderbilt ticket policy for this series should call the Vanderbilt ticket office on Monday, April 20 at 615-322-4653.
