Vanderbilt Announces 2007 Football Signing Class;
Johnson Pleased With Commodore Recruiting Effort

Nashville, Tenn. – Vanderbilt Head Coach Bobby Johnson believes the 2007 recruiting class announced today has an opportunity to become the most distinguished class of his Commodore tenure. The class of 14 commitments includes eight offensive and six defensive prospects, and features three Mr. Football recipients and five state champions.

“I am extremely pleased with our 2007 recruiting class,” Johnson said. “Because of the number of scholarships we have available this year is fairly low, the number of signees in this class could be considered small. However, in terms of quality, I believe that this is our strongest class since this staff has been at Vanderbilt.

“Their academic achievements, football talents, and leadership qualities makes this a class full of potential. As we all know, this is the beginning of their college careers and they will all have to go through a new learning process, but we are excited about having each one of them join our program,” Johnson added.
