100 Years of Vanderbilt Stadium

Athletics requesting fan assistance for celebratory project

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The year 2022 will mark the 100th anniversary of Vanderbilt Stadium, which was originally dedicated as Dudley Field on Oct. 14, 1922.

To commemorate the occasion, Vanderbilt Athletics is creating a coffee table book featuring photographs and memorabilia celebrating the history of Commodore football.

Thanks to our department and university archives, and other sources, Vanderbilt has a tremendous collection of action shots, newspaper clippings, game programs and media guides.

But for other items, we need your help.

If you’re a fan who has saved ticket stubs, bumper stickers, bobbleheads, game day pins, posters, pennants, personal game day snapshots or other unique memorabilia over the years (the older and odder the better), we’d love to hear from you. And if you’re a former student-athlete or family member who has saved recruiting letters, road trip itineraries, luggage tags, letter jackets, or other items only a football student-athlete would have, we’d love to hear from you, too.

Please e-mail andrew.j.maraniss@vanderbilt.edu by Dec. 31 if you have items you would be able to send us as photos for the book.
