CLEVELAND, Ohio – Freshman Tonner DeBeer maintained her successful debut at the CSCAA National Invitational earning spots in the finals of both the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.
Kicking off the day with the preliminaries of the 100 fly, DeBeer led the Dores touching in at 54.79. This time earned the freshman 12th place in the event followed by sophomore Brooke Ellis racing a 57.51.
Touching the wall only milliseconds apart, freshman Lizzy Colwell and sophomore Hannah Hunt raced in the 100-yard breaststroke, earning times of 1:03.27 and 1:03.56 respectively.
Securing her spot in the B finals of the 100-yard backstroke, DeBeer earned a 17th place finish, touching in at 55.81.
Opening up the finals, the Dores raced in the 200-yard medley relay placing ninth in the event, marking a final time, 1:41.88.
Racing in the final round of the 100 fly, DeBeer increased her preliminary time, earning a final time of 55.81 in the event.
Closing out day two for the Commodores, DeBeer took the pool to compete in the finals of the 100 back. DeBeer maintained her spot at 17th place, touching in at 55.95.
The Dores are back in action Saturday competing in the final day of the CSCAA National Invitational.
