NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer keeper Sara Wojdelko has been named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career. Wojdelko posted a season-high five saves in each of the last two matches.
At Texas A&M on Thursday, the goal-stopper anchored the Vanderbilt defense to lift Vandy to a 2-0 victory. The shutout marks the seventh clean sheet by Vanderbilt, the fifth behind Wojdelko. The senior keeper has nine career shutouts, tied for sixth most in program history. Thursday’s win marked just the fourth time this year that Texas A&M was held scoreless.

On Sunday, Wojdelko tallied another five-save appearance against RV Kentucky. The Northville, Michigan, native held the Wildcats to just one goal. Wojdelko has appeared in 25 matches throughout her career, making 20 starts. She has tallied 58 saves and a goals-against-average of 0.69, currently the fourth-best in program history.
