The Vanderbilt women’s golf team finished the UCF Challenge Tuesday in 16th place with a final total of 890 (298-297-295) at the Red Tail Golf Club. Sophomore Megan Grehan led the way for the Commodores with a 218 (72-74-72), which tied her for 23rd place.
UCLA won the team title with a 14-under par 850 (282-287-281), seven strokes better than second-place Arizona State. The Bruins’ Stephanie Kono came from behind to capture medalist honors over Florida’s Jessica Yadloczky by one stroke. Kono ended the tournament with a 208 (71-71-66).
For the Commodores, Andrea Messer finished behind Grehan with a 221 (76-73-72, T-43). Other Vanderbilt finishers were Marina Alex with a 225 (76-75-74, T-57), Brooke Goodwin, who carded a 226 (74-75-77, T-59), and Jacqui Concolino, who ended with a 253 (84-88-81, 95).
Vanderbilt continues their spring season March 20-22 at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas.
