The Vanderbilt women’s golf team is in fifth place after two rounds of the Tar Heel Invitational at the UNC Finley Golf Course and have a team total of 602 (302-300) after two days. Senior Jacqui Concolino leads all Commodores and is in a tie for sixth place with a score of 146 (74-72).
VU shot a team score of 300 on Saturday and counted scores of 72 from Concolino and Marina Alex (80-72=152, T-30), 77 from Andrea Messer (75-77=152, T-30) and a 79 from Brooke Goodwin (79-79=158, T-65). Megan Grehan fired a second-round 81 and is in a tie for 42nd with a score of 155 (74-81).
Wake Forest continues to lead the tournament after carding a second-round best 291. The Demon Deacons have a two-round total of 585 (294-291), 11 strokes better than second-place North Carolina and Virginia, who are at 296 for the tournament.
Natalie Sheary of Wake Forest leads the individual portion of the tournament with a 141 (71-70). Cindy LaCrosse of Louisville is in second place with a total of 142 (74-68).
