ATHENS, Ga. – The Vanderbilt women’s golf team ended the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course in 16th place with a three day total of 956 (316-321-319), with Commodore senior Liebelei Lawrence leading the way for Vanderbilt with a total of 233 (73-82-78), good for a tie for 33rd place.
Lawrence posted a third-round 78 in tough conditions to lead Vanderbilt on the last day of competition. Jacqui Concolino (80-81-80), Megan Grehan (81-81-79), and Brooke Goodwin (82-77-82) each ended the tournament with a final score of 241, which tied for 67th place. Julie Bartholomew tallied a 258 in the three day event (83-86-89, T-90), and Amber Lundskog, who is playing as an individual, withdrew in the final round Sunday.
Georgia claimed the team title over Purdue after a two-hole playoff – the Bulldogs and Boilermakers each finished the tournament with a 900. Purdue teammates Christel Boeljon and Maria Hernandez tied for medalist honors with a two-over par 218.
The Commodores continue their spring season April 4-6 at the Ping/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
