Vanderbilt officially opens basketball season at 7 p.m. Friday when the women’s basketball team hosts Appalachian State at Memorial Gymnasium. In addition to the start of the basketball season, Vanderbilt’s football, swimming, men’s and women’s tennis and bowling teams are all in action on the road this weekend.
Friday will be a special evening at Memorial Gym. Before the game, the Commodores will present Melanie Balcomb with a game ball for becoming the school’s all-time winningest coach. Balcomb collected her record-setting 257th win in last year’s regular season home finale. Click here to read more.
Vanderbilt is also hosting Social Media Night and Fan Appreciation Night on Friday. Read More
After a week off, the Commodore football team is back at it this Saturday when they play at Florida. The game will kick at 11 a.m. on FSN. Both teams enter the contest 4-4 overall. Read More
Vanderbilt’s bowling team is at the Valpo Crusader Classic this weekend. It is the Commodores’ second tournament of the year. Read More
Representing the men’s tennis team is Gonzales Austin, who is competing in the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in New York. Representing the women’s team at the tournament is Georgina Sellyn. Austin won his first match Thursday, while Sellyn dropped her opening match. Read More
