NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Head coach Darren Ambrose and the Vanderbilt soccer team are thrilled to welcome Stanford transfer and incoming redshirt-senior Stephanie Amack to the squad.
“We are really excited to have a player with Stephanie’s experience and maturity coming into our program,” said Ambrose. “She is a very athletic, versatile athlete who can play in multiple roles. Her experience both at Stanford and in the U.S. U-20 National Team program has prepared her for a significant role in our program this fall and we are looking forward to her arrival in Nashville.”
A native of Pleasanton, Calif., Amack comes from a family of athletes and looks to bring experience from some of the largest national stages to both the defensive and midfield positions.
Some of Amack’s national experience includes starting at outside back for the U.S. 2014 FIFA U-20 World Cup team in Canada and as the youngest player on the winning 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan.
Not afraid to get in the mix on the offensive side of the ball, the fifth-year transfer generated four goals and three assists in her time at Stanford. With the Cardinal, she saw playing time in 60 games and was named to the 2013 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, two-time Pac-12 Academic honorable mention and was a member of the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District team.
Before joining the Commodores, Amack looks to graduate from Stanford this June with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
