-Vanderbilt improved to 13-9, 5-4 in SEC play after the 77-60 win over Texas A&M on Thursday evening at Memorial Gym.
-The Commodores started Luke Kornet, Jeff Roberson, Damian Jones, Wade Baldwin IV, and Matthew Fisher-Davis. Vanderbilt has a 2-1 record using that starting lineup this season.
-Vanderbilt’s win over the eight-ranked Aggies was the Commodores’ first win over a ranked opponent since March 11, 2012, in a win over #1-ranked Kentucky in the SEC Tournament Championship. It was Vanderbilt’s first win at Memorial Gym over a ranked opponent since defeating Florida on February 28, 2012 (77-67).
-Vanderbilt moves to 5-1 all-time against Texas A&M and lead the series in games played at Vanderbilt, 4-0. The two teams will meet again in the regular season finale in College Station on March 5.
Team
-The Commodores shot 50.8% from the floor and 44.8% from three on the night. It was the eighth game this season Vanderbilt has shot 50% or better from the floor and their first game of 50% or better since defeating Auburn on January 12. The Commodores are now 7-1 in those games.
-Vanderbilt out rebounded the Aggies, 38-31.
-The Commodores made 13-of-29 threes against Texas A&M, which tied their most made threes of the season.
-Vanderbilt held Texas A&M to only 31.8% from three and 36.8% from the floor.
-The Commodores had 19 assists on 30 made baskets. The 30 makes is the most since December 2 against Detroit when Vanderbilt made a season-high 35 baskets.
Individual
-Roberson finished the night with a career-high 20 points on 8-10 shooting. He was 3-4 from three on the night.
-Jones added his fifth double-double of the season and 11th of his career with a 13-point, 10-rebound effort. He also added a season-high five blocks.
-Baldwin scored 17 points and had eight assists with only one turnover on the night. He was 7-12 from the floor and 3-6 from three.
-Kornet scored 14 points and had nine rebounds and was 4-6 from three. The four made threes was a new season high.
