Starting Lineups
– Vanderbilt started senior Jermaine Beal, sophomore Brad Tinsley and sophomore Jeffery Taylor at guard … sophomore Andre Walker started at forward and junior A.J. Ogilvy started at center … It was the eighth time this season that Vanderbilt used this starting lineup … VU has not used this starting lineup since they played at Illinois on Dec. 8, 2009. Vanderbilt is 5-2 with this starting lineup.
– Taylor made his 44th consecutive start and has started every game of his career … Tinsley made the 41st start of his career and 24th in a row, starting every game since Jan. 31, 2009 at Auburn … After having his streak of 70-straight starts snapped against Western Kentucky on Dec. 11, Beal made the 78th of his career … The start by Walker was the 13th of his career and 12th in 13 games this season … Before this season, his only start was against MTSU on Nov. 24, 2009 when he suffered a season-ending knee injury … After not starting the last four games, Ogilvy returned to the starting lineup vs. Southern Miss. First Half Notes – Vanderbilt 44, Southern Miss 22
– With Vanderbilt trailing 3-2 at the 19:17 mark in the first half, Southern Miss went on 6-2 run to take a 9-4 lead with 15:32 left in the first half.
– Trailing 9-4 at the 15:32 mark in the first half, Vanderbilt went on a 10-2 run over the next three minutes to take a 14-12 lead with 12:35 left in the half. VU’s first lead of the game came at the 12:35 mark when Festus Ezeli knocked down a field goal.
– With the game tied at 14-14 at the 12:03 mark, Vanderbilt went on a 23-5 run to take 37-19 lead with 3:46 to play before halftime. John Jenkins hit three three-pointers during the run for nine points while Beal added eight points during that span.
– With Ogilvy’s tip-in with seven seconds remaining in the half, Vanderbilt extended its lead to 44-22. The 22-point margin was the largest of the half.
– Ogilvy scored the last seven points of the first half for Vanderbilt. Five of his seven points during the run came at the free throw line.

– With today’s win Head Coach Kevin Stallings moved into second place among al-time wins leaders at Vanderbilt with 199 career wins, surpassing Bob Polk, who had 197 wins … He now has 199 career wins and 131 losses at Vanderbilt … Roy Skinner’s 278 wins is more than any coach in Vanderbilt history.
– A.J. Ogilvy scored 17 points and now has 1,191 for his career, which ranks 27th in school history … He now trails Joe Ford and Jim Henry for 26th and 25th place. … A.J. Ogilvy has scored in double figures in 66 of 76 career games … It was the fourth game in a row that he scored in double figures and the eighth time this season he has accomplished that feat.
