NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Three Vanderbilt soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association All Region teams for their achievements on the field.
Senior defender Monica Buff and senior goalkeeper Tyler Griffin picked up second-team honors, while sophomore midfielder Katie Schulz was a third-team selection.
Buff, a two-time All-SEC pick, anchored the defense as a four-year starter with 67 career starts. She played a important role in the Commodores 25 shutouts over the last two seasons. The Lilburn, Ga., native scored her first career goal this season in a 2-1 overtime win over Arkansas.
Griffin, also a two-time All-SEC and All Region selections, set the school’s new career shutout mark against Auburn on Oct. 1 with 29 and finished with 31 in here career.
Schulz, an SEC All-Freshman team selection a year ago, has started 41 of 43 games played in two seasons at Vanderbilt, including 20 starts this year. The Peachtree City, Ga., native has one goal on the year and played an integral role in the Commodores 26 wins over the last two seasons.
