Four-time American Junior Golf Association All-American and six-time USGA Girls Junior Championship qualifier Megan Grehan has signed a national letter of intent to attend Vanderbilt and play golf for the Commodores.
Grehan, currently a senior at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Conn., is a native of Mamaroneck, N.Y.
Ranked sixth among national prospects by the Junior Golf Scoreboard, Grehan is the youngest winner and two-time champion (2002 and 2003) of the New York State Women’s Amateur.
Grehan also was named to the 2005 and 2006 Canon teams and the 2005 Junior Solheim Cup team.
“We’re really excited that Megan is coming to Vanderbilt,” head coach Martha Richards said. “She is a terrific player who knows how to win tournaments and play along side the best players in the nation. Megan is a great addition and will help continue to bring success to our program.”
Grehan is an accomplished student as well. The honor student is a AP scholar.
Grehan chose Vanderbilt over two-time defending national champion Duke and the nation’s current No. 1 Georgia.
