The No. 40 Vanderbilt men’s tennis team travels to Florida and South Carolina this weekend in search of their first conference wins.

The Commodores are looking to bounce back after a pair of setbacks in their opening weekend against Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

VU features the nation’s 27th ranked doubles tandem of senior Scott Brown and freshman Jason Pinsky.  The twosome has combined to chalk up a spotless spring record of 10-0.  The duo has also made their mark in the singles draw, each posting a remarkable 9-2 effort at their respective slots.

On Friday, the Dores face a talented Gator squad that showcases four players ranked in the top-80, including No. 29 Greg Oullette and No. 41 Hamid Mirzadeh.

Florida posts a 5-1 record at home this season, with their lone loss being a 5-1 decision to No. 1 Baylor.

Coach Andy Jackson’s group is currently ranked No. 7 and holds an overall record of 7-4, 2-0 SEC.

VU returns to action on Sunday as they travel to Columbia, S.C. for a 1:00 p.m. showdown with the Gamecocks.

The No. 30 Gamecocks are 12-3 thus far and feature the reigning SEC Player of the Week in No. 45 Tom Eklund.

The USC Junior upset LSU’s No. 5 Ken Skupski in straight sets to lead the Gamecocks to victory over the ninth ranked Tigers, 4-3.

In their last outing, USC knocked off UNLV in Las Vegas, 4-3.  The Gamecocks dropped the doubles point, but stormed back to take four of six singles matches, including Eklund’s three set triumph at No. 1.

South Carolina currently holds a 2-0 mark in conference play.
