NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following another productive SEC Swimming and Diving Championship the Commodores conclude their 2015 campaign in Gainesville, Fla. at the Florida Gator’s three-day Last Chance Meet.
Last week at SECs the Commodores broke eight Vanderbilt school records and four freshman records, but VU hopes to add new times to the record books this weekend as many swimmers are on the brink of swimming some of their fastest times yet.
This weekend’s field consists of Vanderbilt, Auburn, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, Miami, and Texas A&M, however the weekend operates as a time trial with no team scoring or diving. If swimmers are unable to hit the automatic qualifying times they can still advance to the NCAA meet in events that are not filled up with the automatic qualifiers.
Preliminary swims will begin each day at 10 a.m., with finals at 5 p.m. There will be time trial swims after each round of prelims and finals.
Live Stats can be found online through Meet Mobile. In addition, there will be a men’s SEC Championships 90-minute highlight show that will air on March 2 at 4 p.m., followed by a women’s recap at 5:30 p.m. Each will be broadcasted on ESPNU.
